Psychiatric Assessments & Diagnostics
NCI is now proud to offer Psychiatric Assessments & Diagnostics from Shawnte’ Farmer DNP, MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC. Getting correct and accurate diagnoses are vital for successful treatment of any condition. Psychiatric assessments provide a foundation for creating a unique, individualized, and collaborative treatment plan to address current symptoms, and, more importantly, the core issues that need to be addressed to find relief and pave the way for future success.
NCI does not believe in a “one size fits all” approach. Therefore, our assessments are thorough and include an in-depth history, an understanding of past and current symptoms, and may utilize other diagnostic tools to gain an understanding of your unique individual history and current needs. Following the assessment, NCI will provide any necessary education on the results and treatment options. We believe in a collaborative approach to treatment and therefore seek to make sure you understand every facet of your assessment and treatment.
NCI understands that medications can be helpful and sometimes necessary to treat underlying biological causes of distress. NCI is now proud to offer medication management services from Shawnte’ Farmer DNP, MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC.
Shawnte’ believes medications are a tool, not the solution, to our problems and believes strongly in the power of therapy and medication working in tandem to bring freedom from anxiety, depression, and life’s hurts and hang-ups. As a result, Shawnte’ may recommend counseling as part of treatment in addition to medication management. Counseling does not have to be provided by NCI and those currently receiving counseling from other providers are welcome.
Blood tests and labs may be required for certain medications.
