Julia Coffman, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor with years of experience working with children, teenagers, and adults struggling with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, trauma, and assorted behavioral issues. She is proud to provide care to Northwest Arkansas and beyond as part of the team at Northwest Psychiatry & Counseling.
Julia is a native of Bentonville and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from the University of Arkansas, a Master's Degree in School and Professional Counseling from Harding University, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Professional Counseling, also from Harding University. Julia is a play therapist, licensed teacher, and school counselor in Arkansas. She is also trained in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
Julia is credentialed by the State of Arkansas to conduct online counseling, providing counseling services through the use of technology such as Google Meet, Zoom, and telephone.
Julia was in education for ten years before moving into mental health full-time. She was a teacher for five years and a school counselor for the other five before transitioning to community counseling. Julia has worked in agencies around NWA. She also has experience counseling children in an online environment.
Her heart for helping people is evident, and clients immediately warm to her sense of humor and enjoyment of life. Julia enjoys reading, traveling, the Arkansas Razorbacks, and spending time with her husband and two girls!
