Matthew Sweetser, LCSW

Matthew Sweetser, LCSW, is an experienced Licensed Certified Social Worker at Northwest Psychiatry & Counseling in Bentonville, Arkansas. He works with adolescents and adults struggling with a wide range of issues.

Born and raised in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Matthew earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Social Work from the University of Arkansas.

Matthew has experience in various settings, including in an adult inpatient psychiatric hospital, working with kids and adolescents in Therapeutic Day Treatment, and school-based and home-based counseling. Matthew can treat a wide variety of issues, including anger, trauma, depression, anxiety, social skills, grief, family conflict, life changes, and relationship issues. Matthew has received training in play therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral, and emotionally-focused therapy.

Matthew’s laid-back personality and relaxed demeanor create a naturally casual, safe, and fun environment. Matthew enjoys watching movies, playing and listening to music, photography, and, most of all, spending time with his wife, two rambunctious boys, friends, and pets.
